How to Prepare & What to Wear
“What shall I wear?” is almost an everyday, worrisome question for many people. But what to wear for a photo shoot can loom heavily on ones mind. “Not to worry,” notes Malin, She recommends dressing comfortably, and to be relaxed about the shoot. It will be fun! fun! fun! If jeans and tee shirt make you feel relaxed, then go for it. You may want to leave the starched shirts and the pantyhose for the office or for a luncheon. However, do remember to wear color, it makes you look alive. Also, it is best to stay away from large logos and shirts with silly-sayings on them. Almost anything else will do. If you have any questions please call me ahead of time.
In preparation for the session, if children are going to be in the photos, I ask that they are instructed not to look - or smile - at the camera. That’s my job. If any help is needed, I’ll let you know. Before I arrive, be sure children are fed - and have had naps, if they are needed. The photo session will include pictures taken throughout the house and yard - so a quick pick-up may be in order. Often, I will take children aside and play with them - or hang out alone with them - to get the natural, photo/art images that I create. Sometimes they can become shy and not really themselves. Perhaps by looking around and getting out their toys, to incorporate into the photos, will bring out their natural expressions. So if you have anything fun, colorful, or especially sentimental that you think would work, feel free to let me know - at the start of the photo session. Thank you for your help in setting the scene for a great shoot.
